SMILING MONKEY
Monkeys make me smile. I hope she makes you smile too!
Stampin' Up! Supplies
The paper:
- Thick White cardstock: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
- scrap for bananas and sentiment
- Pretty Peacock: 5-1/4" x 4"
- Pecan Pie: scrap for monkey
- Crumb Cake: scrap for monkey's face
- Cherry Cobbler: four strips of 1/4" x 6"
The stamps, stamp pads and markers:
- Little monkey stamp set
- Circle Sayings stamp set
- Pretty Peacock stamp pad
- Momento Tuxedo Black stamp pad
- Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lolly, Pretty Peacock and Natural Tones Deep markers
Cutting tools:
- Double Ovals Punch
- 2" square Stylish Shapes die
Adhesives:
- Multipurpose Liquid Glue
- Dimensionals
Other:
- Fern 3D Embossing Folder
Instructions:
- Emboss the Pretty Peacock mat using the Fern 3D Embossing Folder
- Position the 2" square die with a corner facing the top of the card. Die cut
- Using Momento Black ink, stamp four bananas on white, the monkey on Pecan Pie, and the monkeys face on Crumb Cake paper. Stamp the branch so that it will appear horizontally across the white square created by the die cut in the Pretty Peacock paper.
- Color the branch and bananas. Use Stampin' Write Markers if you don't want it to bleed through. Or turn the paper over and color another branch on the inside of the card where the ink bled through. Color the monkey, monkey's face and bananas. Glue the monkey's face onto the monkey.
- Glue the Cherry Cobbler strips on the Pretty Peacock paper around the edge of the square opening. Trim the strips where they hang over the edges of the mat.
- Glue the mat onto the card base. Glue the bananas on the corners of the square. Attach the monkey using dimensionals.
- Cut an oval using the Double Oval Punch
- Stamp the word "Smile" from the Circle Sayings stamp set onto the oval.
- Attach the monkey and oval using dimensionals.
